23.8 How can I prepare my dog for a visit to the veterinarian?

Your dog is scared of going to the veterinarian? Its behaviour at the clinic shows signs of stress or fear? Even if this is banal or frequent, you can limit the number these moments, which are unpleasant for both you and him. You can get your dog used to going to the veterinarian’s for a short “courtesy” visit. If he can get a reward from the veterinarian team, it will associate its visits with a pleasant event. If you have to go and the transportation is causing problems, it is also possible to prepare it.

You can make this “habituation” easier by giving your companion a food supplement that helps the training process and limits the effects of stress (Anxivet®).
