Digestive disorders

3. My cat no longer relieves itself

Constipation is defined by the decrease in the frequency of stool emission. They are often hard and dry. It is important to monitor your cat's stool daily. Often, when constipated, your cat will try to defecate, go in its litter, without succes. If not tended to, constipation(?) can worsen and the stools might form what is known as a fecal impaction. This consists of an agglomerate of very hard and dry fecal material that cannot be expelled without a surgical intervention.
